Download Tailscale from tailscale.com/download and install it. After payment you'll receive a one-line join command (an auth key) — run it and your machine is securely on the network with your server. No public exposure, nothing else to set up.

Usage & billing terms

The monthly base fee for the selected server starts at checkout and recurs monthly.
Data transfer out (every stream sent out of the server) is billed monthly at … per GB.
As a guide, each output stream at … Mbps runs about … per hour — billed per output, so a stream sent to two destinations (or pulled by two viewers) costs twice as much.
Compute is billed for the time the server is running; data is metered on actual transfer.
Server setup may take up to 24 hours after payment.
